These represent early works done while living in San Francisco between 1977 and 1980. These are the earliest of my images that are still available. All those prior to these dates have been lost to time and carelessness on my part, and for this I am forever bereaved. It was during this period that I made a commitment, if in action alone, to pursue photography and drop out of school at the University of San Francisco. Several of these images if not all were captured while cutting class. Cutting class was often accompanied by a kind of despair and dissociation that seem deeply infused in these images. Life was like a tumbling wave and the only focus I had was behind the lens.
